Hallo all,
Am back from Boston, Mass. Had a great time- shopping; getting a denim skirt that is very comfortable; whale-watching; seeing a new part of the country; crossing over into Canada to see Niagra Falls from across the way (v. nice); seeing Eileen Ivers and her Wild Blue electric violin in concert; buying 40-something dollars in books; reading 7 novels in 9 days; and having people ask about my accent.

Had not-so great time- buying endless batteries for my CD-player; becoming 40-something dollars in debt to my parents for buying books; throwing up from drinking bad Starbucks tea w/ cinnamon; having people ask about my Southern accent. ( I do NOT say "riiiiiiight". At least not all the time. If not a true Southern belle, I am at least a Southern windchime.)

Summer band starts next Monday, all day. Rance will finally be home. Of course, most of the time we see each other wil be devoted to training the little freshmen to jump through flaming hoops and to go on the newspaper and not the carpet. Sigh, the turmoil of being section leader. Rance sent me a very nice Latin poem a while ago. 'Twas very sweet. I miss him very much.

Must go to bed. Will be leaving Thursday to see my sister, brother-in-law, and two nieces in Illinois. Will be giving Alana MST so she can finish typing it, because I will not even be home to have time. Will actually have time to work on Project Tasty-Wheat before classes start again. If you don't remember what Project Tasty-Wheat is, check the Wild Magic page for reminding. It's under the "Wilde" link, above.

Cheers,
-Traci, who is trying out her new henna tattoo. Peachy!

Since the Falls are less than an hour's drive from where I live, I've seen them in all seasons. They're pretty in the summer, but there's something almost mystical about them in mid-February when they're nearly iced over. Long fingers of ice sparkling on the rocks, and the trees are coated with even more layers of ice from where the spray has frozen on the branches.

Just a random observation. ::waves U.S. and Canadian flags::

That would be cool to see. We went in the evening of the 16th, and watched the full moon come up over the falls. Seeing the full moon through the spray, lighting up the mist and reflecting on the water was really nice, and very creepy.

I'm going to somehow find a way to take a winter holiday to see the Falls iced over. That would be great.

Have a good trip!

Hurrah for henna!
Oh yeah, I'm, um, supposed to be typing on the MST aren't I? ::looks guilty:: ::turns up Yoko Kanno music so she can type to it::
Also, love Eileen Ivers CD v. much. Merci beaucoup, mon amie! ::glomps Traci, because glomp is a fun word to use:: Cheers!
