Hee.

We read part of the Qur'an today in Journeys. Some of us tried out the Arabic, and the visiting professor (of Muslim studies) said I was the closest in pronunciation. w00t. And I have a new CD of Arabic prayers, for free, since it came with the book. V. pretty.

I have a Calculus quiz in a few minutes (reason enough for the icon), and a Bio exam after that. Blargh.

I'm taking a nap this afternoon, I think. Perhaps going to Target or Walmart.

And on a side-note, anyone want an icon? I feel like making them. Give me an idea, and I'll do my best.

-Traci

PS: Yrael got to preform a Charter Baptism at Milliways last night, and pretend parentage of a kitten to get rid of smooth-talking annoyance who was bothering a friend. Still laughing over that one.

Woo! Impressive. Arabic is hard for English-speakers to pronounce properly. (Speaking as one who's taken it for several years, and took a long time to learn to say some of the letters correctly.)

Icon. Hmm. I tell you what I've been wanting: A Milliways icon (I'm not sure of the background, except that I don't really like the multicolored margarita glasses picture used for some of them) that says "my fandom contains multitudes." (Because we love random poetry references, yes we do.)

*searches web for suitable backgrounds* As in multitudes of people? Or just multitudes in general?

Just multitudes in general, although I'm intending to imply that it has both multitudes of people and multitudes of fandoms. Maybe a starry sky background or something? *shrug* It's a quote from Walt Whitman's Song of Myself:

The past and present wilt--I have fill'd them, emptied them,
And proceed to fill my next fold of the future.

Listener up there! what have you to confide to me?
Look in my face while I snuff the sidle of evening,
(Talk honestly, no one else hears you, and I stay only a minute
longer.)

Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)

I concentrate toward them that are nigh, I wait on the door-slab.

Who has done his day's work? who will soonest be through with his

supper?
Who wishes to walk with me?

Will you speak before I am gone? will you prove already too late?

Okay then. Three backgrounds (snowflakes, underwater streams of bubbles, and something that I have no idea what it is) and numerous fonts. Take whatever you like.

I didn't figure that it would be proper to say anything in the thread, but I worship you even more than I did previously for your IC and OOC handling of Lister and his mun. You were phenomenal. Would you like your altar to be built in gold, pewter, or bronze?

I'm finally getting around to stalking hunting down various Milliways people off-game. Mind if I friend you? Evil must stick together, after all... *cackles*

~Liz-mun

P.S. The moray and maths icons rock my world. I'm still giggling at those.

*grins* Thanks. All I was doing was saying what I felt needed to be said. Sometimes I wonder if their should be an RP Etiquette book written, so rants need not happen so often.

But if I must have an altar, it should be made of styrofoam, as to be Evil, Cheap, and Handy. *grins*

Sure you can friend me. There is strength in numbers, and Good is always out to thwart Evil. I was actually looking through journals earlier today and was wondering if I could friend you as well.

It's amazing how far the Handy Grab-N-Go Cup of Pure Satanic Energy has grown. When I said "Grab-n-Go Cup in training reporting" to Willmun, she said "In training, my foot!" and stapled a styrofoam cup of Pure Satanic Energy to my hand. I told her that only innocent blood should touch the cup, but she wouldn't listen! Her evil knows no bounds! *smirks*

-Traci, Yrael-mun

PS: Glad you like the icons. I spend way too much time as it is making them, but it's theraputic. I have a couple of Handy Grab-N-Go icons already.....heheh.

I think you might be onto something. We've done guidelines and such in the past, but there always seems to be something else that needs addressing. Perhaps a book is indeed in order. *plots... evilly*

But honestly, what on earth were you thinking? Of course you aren't allowed to friend me. Sheesh. How could you even think that would be acceptable?

In other words, yeah, that's fine. Friend away! *grins* I must warn, I've been away from my personal LJs for a while, and what was there before I took a hiatus is rather boring. Both of those are in the process of being remedied.

Well, Gen is the Grand High Poobah of Evil. I should be very surprised, indeed, if her evil did have bounds. It would mean something had gone horribly wrong. The stapling doesn't sound entirely pleasant, though. Couldn't she just have Velcro'd the cup on, instead? You should keep an eye on the stapling site, make sure there's no infection. Puncture wounds can be nasty. ;)

~Jess (y'know, just in case you didn't know my actual name or some such rot)

P.S. Handy Grab-N-Go icons? Forget worship. I outright love you. <3

If I had used velcro, she would have been able to take it off and pretend to be innocent!

Not pretend very convincingly, mind you, but the point remains.

Perhaps Krazy Glue, then?

Oh, and if you're bored, I don't know what picture it ought to be, but I need an icon that says "My fandom believes in practical demonstrations."

And with something like that it probably ought to be animated and I have no way of doing so...
