My semester in London is picking up speed nicely. I'm sleeping much better, now, and exploring more as I get to know the city little by little. Yesterday I went with [livejournal.com profile] rymenhild to Oxford, and it was wonderful. The sun was shining, there were sheep, and there were very old buildings that were beautiful.

We walked through town to the Bodlei...yeah...to the Library where Rym spent quality time with ancient texts while I wandered around quite contentedly taking pictures of beautiful things. I also bought a three-in-one book of Poirot mysteries by Agatha Christie at Blackwells, where I spent a good hour and a half. Got eighty pages into the book before I bought it, actually.

We had lunch in the Botanical Garden and had cream tea at The Rose, a nice little teashop on High Street, and I got to take a picture of the bench in the Botanical Garden that's at the end of The Amber Spyglass by Phillip Pullman. I got home and uploaded my pictures to my photobucket account almost immediately. :D

Tonight was also lovely. I went over to Rym and her roommate's flat and had dinner with them and a couple of their friends. It was really nice to sit around the table and chat with them. I think I had been missing that a lot more than I realized. Eating with people, at a table, with real food, and real conversation. I really enjoyed it, especially sitting there after the dinner and chatting over tea. I don't get to do that a lot, and it's really special when I can.

Tomorrow is grocery shopping, as I'm out of bread and we're nearly out of toilet tissue and paper towels. I'll see about also getting something to help us do dishes.

Let's see, what else...

OH!

You want a postcard from London! You do!
