Health Issues

Okay. So, my left side has been hurting for weeks now.

From ribs to hip and everywhere in between, front and back.

And I have no idea why. All my fibromyalgia tender points feel like they should be showing massive bruises. It sometimes feels like I pulled something, or I slept crooked, or have been sitting with bad posture forever. Then other times it feels like I'm bloated, and stiff, and can't move right.

I can point exactly to the eight points on my side that are where the hurts center around. Front-left ribs; stomach up and left of navel; hollow of left hip; left side just up from hip; left ribs under my arm; back ribs under my left shoulderblade; mid-back on left side; and back of hips just down from the small of my back.

I just can't tell you whyyyyy.

Mom says stress, causing fibro to go into high gear and causing the irritable bowel syndrome that goes with it, which okay, I've been under a bit of stress lately, but that's nothing new. Nothing to make me hurt only on my left side for a full month.

Dad says it's acid reflux, which... thanks for the concern, but it's really not.

Any ideas, guys? I'm lost.

Mmph. *snuggles carefully* No idea- just that you should see a doctor.

(Who may end up telling you the exact same stuff, but at least then you can stop worrying so much! Which is prolly adding to your stress, which may be aggrivating the fibro.)

Oh, uncool. D:

I have no idea what it could be . . . but I second Star's recommendation of checking out a doctor.

I have equally no clue, which isn't helpful at all. *snuggles gently* anyhow.

Thirded on the doctor front.

Also... has the weather in your area been kind of goofy lately? I tend to have a helluva time when changing fronts pass through here. My other immediate thought was wondering if you shift around during your sleep. Compression/immobilization tend to help when I'm feeling ouchy, and it's gotten to the point that I contort myself into positions that compress sore parts of me without really thinking about it -- kind of a "make it stop" reflex. It happens even when I'm sleeping, so that I end up waking up with cramps some days from having twisted myself into a pretzel in my sleep.

Your dad might also be onto something with the reflux. I have horrid GERD, and before I started noticing upper GI symptoms, I'd get pain around that area of my stomach that would translate through to bizarre spots on my body. (I don't think it ever affected my hip, though, so. Perhaps not.)

Or it could just be fibro being a fleabag. Which also happens. :|

Either way, having a doc look into it is probably the best option. Especially if it's been going on persistently for a month. That's just no good.

You can pull muscles that cause issues all the way up and down. Are you a restless sleeper? I wake up to bad muscle ache because I sleep wrong. I'm sorry you're hurting.
