saphyria: (The world is quiet here so we have tea)
[personal profile] saphyria
Had my wisdom teeth cut out this morning. Feel like the cruddiest crud that ever crudded. Hurts to talk, hurts to swallow, hurts to move, hurts to laugh, hurts to be.

Augh. And I've still got another two hours until I can take another pain med.

The only upside to this has been that I've been catching up on my sleep and that the doctor said that, if I didn't like gauze, I could bite down on used teabags, if I liked tea. I couldn't even explain to him coherently why I was giggling at that.

For some reason, room-temp iced tea (meaning, sans ice) hurts less to drink than water does. Jello right now is just problematic, as the right side of my tongue is still numb and I can't control it very well.

Rar.

Distract me?

We still rock, and people keep telling us so.

Try making lukewarm tea from your Emperor tea or something else with amazing flavor, maybe.

*hugs*

*hugs!*

Tea bags = the shit.

Distractions? Er.... http://www.tv-links.co.uk/ possibly? (Check out the anime section, I guess. Watch stuff you know or try something new. I myself have enjoyed Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Trigun, and Full Metal Alchemist. Cowboy Bebop's "Mushroom Samba" episode is a good and funny stand alone episode.)

Hope the pain goes away quickly! *hugshugshugs*

The tea hurts less to drink because the tannins in it are helping the torn tissues in your mouth close up again.

*sends hugs and good wishes and cool used teabags*

[livejournal.com profile] strange_selkie speaks truth. Just be sure that you do eat, when you feel more up to it -- I lost almost a stone in weight when I had my wisdom teeth out because I didn't really eat food that wasn't pudding and applesauce for the better part of a week and a half.

Oh, I am so sorry. Having your wisdom teeth out is always a bitch. My suggestion is to take happy pills and sleep a lot. And keep that tea bag "gauze" on it: you don't want anything getting in there. Trust me on that one.

I'd stay and keep you company, but someone doesn't like to leave me alone for more than 20 minutes...
