saphyriaSuccess! Have successfully managed to get up at 6:45am, drive 90 miles to my college without falling asleep and/or crashing, and set up my stuff in my room.
My closet has clothes hanging in it, my drawers are full of non-hanging clothes, my books, DVDs and PS2 games are on my desk's shelf, and my computer is hooked up and works with three (3!) free plugs left over in my powerstrip, plus three other free plugs in the... actual wall socket.
Karl is gleaning what sunlight he can from the overcast and dreary sky, my tea is in a row on the windowsill, next to him. My bed is lofted now creates a lovely little nook where my desk and chest of drawers is. My rug will probably be perfect for the amount of floorspace we are to have.
Out of everything, I only forgot my little desklamp and the cords to hook my printer to my computer and plug it in. Not bad.
My roomie is not here, so half the room and furniture still is undone and lined up. The room looks half finished, and very bare, from the door, as my roommate's chest of drawers is currently blocking my view of the door from my desk.
Roomie is not scheduled to arrive until LATE tonight, and move in early tomorrow morning. And it seems that Bethanie is around and busy being Head RA, so I haven't seen her yet. Conwill's not in yet, also, as far as I know, and I feel very lonely.
Pros:
+Everything of mine set up and in its place and working.
+Bed is comfortable, as shown by short nap this afternoon.
+Internet connection is love.
+Biggerbox room than last two years.
+Hard wood flooring.
+High ceilings.
Cons:
-Can't move my things from where they are, as that 30-ft ethernet cable I brought...was actually a cable hookup.
-Room slightly damp-feeling. May just be the humidity outside.Yay South
-Half of room's furniture still laid out and bare.
-Printer can't be hooked up, so have no way of printing things to decorate horridly bare white walls with.Yay Alliteration
-Hard wood flooring creaks abominably.
-The noise from the hallways is loud, even with the door shut.
-And finally, no one's AROUND. I AM LONELY. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO.
Why, on move-in day, is no one arrrouuuunnd?
I am bored! I am lonely! Someone call me or something.
