Post-Millicon Post
Jul. 18th, 2006 12:26 amI am home. I am unpacked. I am now on my second load of laundry, which is my Yraelwhites with bleach to get out purple-black hair dye from random towel left in bathroom after everyone was getting ready for Happy Hour Live.
I've been listening to Rym's mix CD she made for us (and only now noticed the plaque in the picture that says "The World is Quiet Here") and have gotten Bob Dylan's "Ring Them Bells" stuck in my head. It's been a long time since I've heard that one.
I made tea and picked a load of figs from our tree, which is L-O-A-D-E-D with them. Totally organic, fresh picked and washed in cool water. YUM. They're like candy. (I expect they shall help with my impending Pocky Withdrawal).
Millicon was, without a doubt, the best four days of my life. The Sheer... I don't know. The sheer geekery/crack/insanity/hilarity/slightly frantic yet laid-back nature of it was bliss. I met people who I've been friends with for two years now.
There was an ASPEN! With "meep"-inducing Blodwen voice, amazing serene Moiraine-ity in the face of Naphalot and other things whose names begin with N, and her decidedly brilliant Jack Sparrow (Captain Jack Sparrow) walk and voice and costume.
There was a MADB! With "OMGI'MGOINGTODIE"-inducing Nyarlathotep smile and way of moving and looming and gah, and her wonderful Ako. Oh man. She rocks. I must say.
There was a STAR! With the GLOMPING of Gramarye!Merriman and the Fox-ears and the laid-back conversations and going to Reagan Airport far too early and the Tea and the Crack and I GOT TO MEET STAR!
There was a VIV! With Spot-On Ingress with the tutu and the sword and blue hair and everything, and her Tom with the muggle video camera. And her, drunk. Great quotes.
There was a LYNETTE! WITH OMG SO MANY HUGS! And bouncing in car and scaring other drivers! (hee) And flowery, spinning Ophelia inna preddy skirt with baby's breath in her hair! SO PREDDY THE LYNETTE! I GOT TO MEET LYNETTE! *dances*
There was a RYM! With Chao and amazing Bran, who got to meet Rand al'Thor, the other dragon-name inheritor and wielder of a crystal sword. The whole situation made me squee, and further fail to stay IC. Hee.
There was a BETH! With Wish and the GLITTER and the pretty dice and the Poking Tube of Muchly Poking the Millimuns(tm)! SO GLAD I GOT TO MEET HER! Hee!
There was a JESS! With the witty Liz Bennet (and the dress of a thousand safety pins which turned out to be beautiful) who succeeded in distracting Yrael with duct-tape that would not come off his paws. She is clearly too clever for him, but, of course, he will never admit it.
There was a GRAMARYE! With the AMAZING Merriman, complete with Skillful Not Spilling Of The Tea when Ako insinuated herself onto lapspace and the brilliant facepalm of being glomped and the REACTION TO THE PIXIE-STIX. EEE. And Plot. Plot plot plot Brilliance and fun and am not elaborating on that now. We will have to talk.
And And And And there were so many PEOPLE. The Great Migrations across DC, mainly to Busboys and Poets and to see PotC2, were a sight to see. Fifty-sixty some odd people dressed up as characters from books and movies and songs and myth, walking-gliding-cavorting down the streets of DC togethers. LOUD. HILARIOUS. No chance of losing the group. No one else is dressed so noticeably. We had angels, demons, Oxford professors, Foxes, Wizards, Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rogue Spaceship Captains, alien gods. Then on the second trek we had a big group of PIRATES. (ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR)
Led by Jack Sparrow.
Rather hard to miss.
The clock broke and stuck at Crack o'clock the entire time. It was great.
Also? PLOT. OMG PLOT. JACK SPARROW TIA DOLMA NORRINGTON WELLARD MERRIMAN BLACK RIDER SVAVA ARCHIE BOOM.
That's all I'm saying.
I'm getting a leetle incoherent. Time for sleep, to make a dent in the sleep deficit from this past week.
Sleepis for the weaek(s).
I love you all. There will soon be a friending spree to go on, to LJ-friend people from Millicon. But not right now. Now is sleep.
