Um...Omnibus Edition update
Jan. 8th, 2006 10:04 amOkay, I guess it's time I updated this thing. *brushes cobwebs from corners of journal*
Christmas was lovely and loud. Nineteen(19!) people together and talking and laughing and playing Clue and/or DDR and eating and sharing stories. It is lovely. I love my family and their talkativeness. And how we can just... do stuff together and have fun, even if one has never tried DDR or Clue before.
Robert, Jim, and Joe liked their scarves. Granny even noted that my stitching tension is more steady and even than hers ever was, in her sixty+ years of knitting! (!!) Great gift for Christmas, right there.
As to other gifts I got, I received:
DDR!
Box Set of Poirot DVD movies (Little grey cells!)
Serenity and Hulk movies (I've only watched one of them so far, guess which!)
A Stitch'n'Bitch Journal (With Blodwen grinning up at me from its cover)
Season Two DVD collection of Have Gun, Will Travel
A silver ring with onyx and peridots
Two skiens of Italian wool yarn (!!)
Anansi Boys by Gneil
A Hippo Christmas ornament (hee!)
A $50 AmEx gift card
and $60 in cash.
Yay!

OMG Milliways Dark is Rising plot. I must say that the whole thing was beautiful and occasionally terrifying and wonderfully done. Aspen's mind is a beautifully scary place, and I wish I had half her brilliance.
It was so much love, and WOOMCH.

My little nephew Ethan is spending this week with us. He's nine months old, and trying to walk. He does wonderfully until he has to let go of something for more time than it takes for him to topple over onto the next handhold. He is the cutest little thing. His fair hair makes this little swirl like the eye of a hurricane on the back of his head. His eyes are just the brightest, clearest blue, and he is just such a happy kid. We had him all yesterday and I swear he didn't fuss more than a minute and a half the entire day. Most of the time was spent learning our living room and pushing the buttons on my PS2 controller and laughing as he gabbled into his toy telephone. Just so cute.
He had some problems last night, though, as he would get scared if he woke up, because he didn't know where he was. It's a new place, and it'll take some getting used to, this week. He seems fine and happy again this morning, though. Here's hoping tonight goes better, so mom can get some sleep.
