Dec. 28th, 2004

Since none of my extended family could be here on the 25th for Christmas, the holiday happened on the 27th, with a full day of FAMILY. It was so awesome. Woke up at 9 to a five-year old singing to me. It was a bright day, it was warm inside, everyone either had tea or coffee with them as they talked. Twenty people in one house, catching up on all that's been going on in everyone else's lives. Sister, brother-in-law and two neices(nine and five years old) from Illinois. Uncle and aunt from Virginia. Cousin from New York. Brother and sister-in-law, who are expecting their first born son, from Little Rock. Brother from Japan, where he's been teaching. Grandparents. Parents. Chatter, snarky banter, tea, good food, sharing memories while just standing around in the kitchen or sitting in the living room, laughing at something said or some action or idea. A long day, but overflowing with wonderful people and conversation and food. I enjoyed the time spent talking and listening more than the getting presents. It is so rare that we're all able to get together at the same time like that, and the time we do have together is so brief, we pack as much as we can into what time we get. The result is always great.

Anyway, here's the Present List:

-Moss agate pendant necklace with pearls
-Stories of English a history of the English Language
-Art of the Discworld by Pterry and P. Kidby
-Internet Chat headphones/microphone.
-Incense and burner from Japan
-Black knitted hoodie
-Single-cup tea mug and infuser for loose-leaf tea
-Soul Music DVD (Christopher Lee as Death is perfect)
-$90, with which I bought:
-Bond "Classified" CD
-Phantom of the Opera Movie Special Edition Soundtrack (WHEEE!)
-Three CD set of Bach's Organ works
-Two CD set of Violin Adagios by various composers

It's been a very good Christmas.
