Nov. 24th, 2004 07:43 amBleh. Six AM is a bloody Light-forsaken hour to get up in the mornings. 'Specially if we're going to be driving fourteen hours today in rain and (eventually) snow. I've got everything packed: books, CDs, schoolwork that I probably will end up not remembering to do, knitting (yeah, yeah. Weird, I know. Sue me.), notebooks for drawing, and more books for reading. And tea.
Speaking of tea, I received a gift from a former student of my mother's that I only remember vaguely. She sent me American-grown tea. I didn't know we grew tea. We might only have one tea plantation ( near Charleston, South Carolina), but America suddenly has become a cooler place to live. *has tea*
My sister Aimee called this morning, explaining why I have to take so many books up there with me. She has been devouring Terry Pratchett, much to my glee, and needs A Hat Full of Sky since she finished all the books she's found so far. So far her favorites are Reaper Man, The Thief of Time, and all of the Watch books. She loves talking about Death and fangirls Vetinari, just like me. And all this because I loaned her Mort and Guards! Guards!. Speaking of which, I still haven't gotten those back yet. Aimee, in turn, has gotten one of her friends hooked on Mort, meaning I may never see my books again. Terribly sad, but yay! I'm winning converts!
The highs this week in Chicago are supposed to be in the upper thirties. Positively balmy weather. Possibly snow. Probably snow. Snow! Whee!
I watched the third Harry Potter movie last night with my brother Joseph while waiting for my parents to get back from Dallas. All the flights from Dallas to the East were cancelled due to inclimate weather, so my parents had to rent a car and drive up. They're still missing one of their suitcases. Blargh.
Anyway, we're about to leave. I probably won't have internet access while we're up in Illinois, so I'll be wanting updates as to what's been happening when I get back. Kay? *looks around threateningly* I've made Dream-mun a terribly evil icon, and I know how to use it, guys. Don't force my hand. *mock-glares*
Hee, talk to all of you later.
