Project Tasty-Wheat Update
Aug. 3rd, 2003 09:51 pmI finished the embroidery on the face of my soon-to-be Professor Plushie! Will day before yesterday. He has the reading glasses, the lovely blue eyes, the knowledgeable/slighty snarky Look, and of course, the Eyebrow. It's looking pretty good, and my mom is continually giving me tips on sewing the two sides together. She's been a lot of help in this. All I have to do to finish the body is do his hair, stuff him, and sew him together. So much fun. Maurice is in high gear, and has been for the last week. It's great when your crafty muse is on a buzz, but it suppresses your writing muse. Saph has yet to talk to me this weekend, which at any other time would be a great blessing. But at the moment I want to write.
I would show you here what my soon-to-be Will-plushie looks like, but the scanned image of him is not at Alana's and my website yet, so I cannot link to it. Argh. If you want to see what it looks like so far, email me at saphyria73@icqmail.com and ask about it. Alana, I'll be sending you those scanned pics of Young'n'Snarky!Snape from the HP opening night and of plushie-Will, um...hopefully tomorrow at lunch time. Either then or after band tomorrow afternoon. I will win the Drill-Down tomorrow. Grrrr....
And as a note out of nowhere, I just got back from a wedding in Mississippi. My.......second cousin once removed, I think, got married. The last time I saw her was at my sister's wedding, when I was five and she was thirteen. And I had to come to their wedding.
Whee.
It was a very nice ceremony, but I was distracted. The best man made me think of Sirius more than any other guy ever has. He was grinning openly the whole time, and once the exchange of rings was over, he looked so smug that you'd think he was the matchmaker. He was just grinning so Siriusly. He was also very hot, but we'll not go into that at the moment. All the bridesmaids and groomsmen, and the bride and groom themselves, were from med-school. They didn't look like it, though. They looked too young. I had a long talk with my third cousin, a guy named Jason, on the merits of going into the medical field and how Pathology is a growing, in-demand area. Very heartening. All my relatives are interesting people. From political associates who teach lobbyists in DC (My uncle and fourth cousin), to teachers of English as a second language in Japan (my very cool first cousin. I only have one cousin, and she's very cool) , to Engineers, to Neuro-surgeons, to car-saleswomen. All very sarcastic and all have a great sense of humor.
My family is so weird.
Cheers!
